Labinaz to produce a textbook titled "Viability of Hybrid Systems: A Controllability Operator Approach" (Springer, 2011) as part of the Springer Science and Engineering book series called Intelligent Systems, Control and Automation. Queen's Undergrads "Most Satisfied" in Canada, says Globe and Mail
Oct 28, 2011: The Globe and Mail has released the Canadian University Report for 2011 and Queen's has again ranked high in several categories, topping the list for Most Satisfied Students. Queen's also ranked at the top for Buildings and Facilities, Libraries, Reputation with Employers and Career Preparation. The report surveys 33,000 current undergraduate students across Canada, asking 100 questions which gave universities a grade from A+ down to D. Overall, Queen's has moved up one position to 4th as a top university in Canada. Please click on the link to review the entire report.

Barz Receives CFI Funding
Dr. Dominik Barz Receives CFI Funding
Oct 21, 2011: Dr. Dominik Barz has been awarded $128K to fund leading-edge research in miniaturized electrical power supplies for micro systems. This research aims to overcome the problems that arise from micro systems being powered by large power supplies, which can compromise the advantages of miniaturization. Dr. Barz is among four researchers at Queen's University, who were chosen by the Canadian Foundation for Innovation's (CFI) Leaders Opportunity Fund.

Department Seminar Series is Under Way for 2011-12
Sep 16, 2011: The Department of Chemical Engineering is proud to launch its Seminar Series for the 2011-2012 academic session. Faculty members have invited speakers from the various research areas including bioengineering, polymers and process control and design. Although the seminar series is aimed at graduate students, faculty and researchers, we welcome 4th Year CHEE and ENCH students to attend.
