Standards for admission are very high, and prospective students will need to have demonstrated excellent academic performance. A complete application generally consists of at least a finalized application, two letters of reference and official transcripts from all education institutions. For applicants whose first language is not English, a passing test score from one of our acceptable sources (http://www.queensu.ca/sgs/forstudents/InternationalStudents/admissionreqs.html) is also required.
Although faculty members in the Department collaborate extensively with other researchers across the University, research activity in the Department is focused in three areas: bio-engineering chemistry, chemical reaction engineering, and process simulation and control. To identify potential supervisors with research programs which may be of particular interest, prospective students should review the specific research profiles currently being investigated by faculty members in the Department.

Please note that a processing fee of $105.00 (CDN) must accompany all completed applications. Applications will not be considered until all of the required documentation and the application fee have been received. Completed applications will be considered and prospective students notified of whether they will be recommended, to the School of Graduate Studies and Research, for acceptance into a particular degree program in the Department. The Calendar of the School of Graduate Studies and Research can be consulted for information on programs and courses by clicking on the link below.
